In 2011, Cheslyn Hay and Great Wyrley flower club entered the Royal Horticultural Society's Chelsea Flower Show and won a Silver Grenfell Award.

Said Laura:

I was very pleased to represent Cheslyn Hay and Great Wyrley flower club at Chelsea this year, it was thrilling to be awarded a silver medal. This was both mine and the clubs first time entering the floral design competitions at Chelsea, it was a great experience and I hope it will encourage other members to have a go in future years.
The design featured briefly on the BBC coverage which was also nice to see. The idea was to create a design in garden style so I took inspiration from my grandparents' garden that I remember from childhood. It was very soft and romantic, featuring a table constructed fom hazel branches (my grandmothers name was Hazel). The inside was planted with succulents and the outside was decorated with David Austin roses, "Green eye" clematis, sweet peas, amaranthus and scabious.
